Thoughts as Thinkers: Biology and Computer Science of Inspiration

Professor, Director of Allen Discovery Center

35:08·2026·graduate level·Conference Talk

An interdisciplinary talk exploring the biology and computer science of inspiration, conceptualizing patterns as behavioral policies and their origins and applications.

This is a ~35 minute talk titled "Thoughts as Thinkers: the biology and computer science of inspiration within and without us" that I gave right before Chris Fields, at a recent philosophy conference. Still working on different ways to present the concept of patterns as behavioral policies, their origin, and applications of this idea.
